1949. Incised copper plate, (8 3/4 x 13 in) bearing the landscape format image depicting "Round Hill". The image comprises a central low hill with trees and marshland in the foreground, higher rolling hills behind and clouds and sky above. The original print struck from this plate, entitled "Round Hill", is said to be item #446 in the collection of the Boston Public Library. Twenty impression are said to have been printed. Thomas Willoughby Nason (1885-1971). His prints portray the New England landscape with remarkable sensitivety and detail. Nason mastered the complexities of chiaroscuro wood engraving. His work is widely held by leading museums and galleries.
