"Divine Medium"
Original autograph manuscript of "The Divine Medium". 1920. (4to. 15 pages, bearing quite a few revisions). Good condition. (74878). Item #15317
"Genius is the only medium through which Heaven yet made any spiritual revelation to mankind." The author goes on to discuss, in detail, mesmerism, suggestion, telepathy, clairvoyance, automatic writing, necromacy, apparitions, mysticism, etc.—George Allen Upward (1863-1926) was a poet, lawyer, politician and teacher. It is of interest to note that in 1917 the British Museum refused to take Upwards' manuscripts, "on the grounds that the author was still alive, and Upward burned them. He shot himself in November 1926.
