"I think England is setting fire to the world, by restoring fresh & true religion. Religion & science are really the same thing - both of them the knowledge of God & God's works. Religion without Science is ignorant faith. Science without Religion is to study effects without Causes." The author then speaks of his own experiences after the death of his son, his brother, his wife's nephew and a friend. This is followed by some discussion pf the photographs by Schrenk-Notzing, Madame Buison and Geley, which depict figures through the agency of mediums, stating that they are enough "to convince any one who examines the evidence. Most of our opponents never dream of investigating the evidence first hand." . . . "It is organised & arranged from the other side & will find its own best course. You cannot constrain or regulate the spirit."
